Odor Care Tips for Recycled Nylon
Recycled synthetic fabrics perform best with a little extra wash attention. Here's how to keep your leggings fresh:
- Wash promptly after wear — don't leave damp leggings in your gym bag; rinse or wash as soon as possible.
- Turn inside out — washing fabric-side out removes more odor-causing residue from the surface that contacts your skin.
- Use cold water & a gentle cycle — cold water protects elasticity; hot water can set odors into synthetic fibres.
- Skip fabric softener — softener coats synthetic fibres and traps residue, which can worsen odour over time.
- Use a sports-specific or enzyme-based detergent — these break down sweat residue more effectively on recycled nylon.
- Air dry — heat from a dryer degrades spandex and can lock in odours; hang to dry away from direct sunlight.
- Occasional soak — for stubborn odours, soak inside out in cold water with a small amount of white vinegar (1 part vinegar to 4 parts water) for 30 minutes before washing normally.
